State of the Digital Gig Work Economy

Add your voice. The survey explores motivations, barriers, and needs of digital gig workers, freelancers, and content creators aiming for independent work. Results will inform a freelancer‑first platform.

Before you start

Eligibility: This study is open to digital gig workers, freelancers, and content creators engaged in paid work.

Confidentiality and Data Use: Your responses will be combined with those of other participants. Any quotations used in reports or publications will be anonymised to protect your identity.

Voluntary Participation: Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary. You may also withdraw from the study at any time, without providing a reason, up to two weeks after completing the survey. After this point, data may already be anonymised and aggregated, and it will no longer be possible to remove individual contributions.

Consent: By proceeding, you confirm that you have read and understood the information provided about this study. You acknowledge that your participation is anonymous, voluntary, and that you retain the right to withdraw within two weeks without penalty.

Who we include

    Digital Gig Workers

    Workers who have completed ≥2 paid gigs via platforms (e.g., Upwork, Fiverr, Freelancer) in the last 12 months.

    Freelancers

    Digital gig workers that have completed ≥1 paid job independently, outside digital gig platforms in the last 12 months.

    Content Creators

    Actively publishing expertise, create content but have not yet been hired for freelance or gig work.
